Product details
The Akupanel 120 is a 1200 × 600mm acoustic wood slat half panel, made for headboards, half walls, kitchen islands and under-counter features.
Made in Denmark by WoodUpp, with veneers hand-picked by the WoodUpp team and acoustic felt made in Sweden.
Where to use it
Headboards (a queen bed usually takes 3 panels), half walls, wainscoting below a TV, kitchen islands and bar counters. Top it with a 67mm finishing slat for a shelf-style ledge.

- Size: 1200 × 600mm, 22mm thick
- Coverage: 0.72 m² per panel
- Slats: 27mm wide with 13mm gaps, on acoustic felt
- Joins: 13mm felt continuation on the edge, so panels join without a visible seam
- Fixing: screws through the felt (15 per panel in our guide) or mounting glue
How many do I need?
Divide the width you want to cover by 0.6 and round up. A 1.8m headboard needs 3 panels. See our guide: how many acoustic panels do I need?
Please note: 1.2m panels are custom cut to size. Minor variations of a few millimetres can occur, so allow for this when you measure.
Finishing and installation
Finish exposed edges with 22mm finishing slats. Install it yourself with our DIY guide, or let our installation team do it.
Finishes labelled "Wrapped" use a high-quality wood-textured foil, not real wood veneer. All other wood finishes are real veneer, so grain and colour vary naturally from panel to panel.
Akupanels are for indoor use only. Don't install them where they will be exposed to water or steam. For outdoor walls, see Aluwood.

How many do I need for a headboard?
Three panels make a 1.8m headboard, which suits most queen and king beds. See our headboard guide.
Why can't I return half panels?
Half panels are custom cut to size, so they can't be returned for a change of mind. Your rights for faulty goods still apply.
Is the size exact?
Half panels are cut to order, so allow for a tolerance of a few millimetres when you measure.

FAQs
Are the panels easy to install?
You can install your Thula Walls using adhesive glue or a drill and screws - through the felt and into the wall or ceiling.
What about plug points or TV mounts?
During installation, you can measure the plug points, TV mounts or light switches, draw the area out onto your panel and cut the space out using a jigsaw or rail saw.
My wall is taller than 2.4 m, what should I do?
For walls up to 3 m high, choose the Akupanel 300: one full-length panel from floor to ceiling, with no joins. Enter your wall size in the wall planner above and it will pick the right panel for you.
For walls over 3 m, you can:
- cut and stack additional panels to reach the full height
- centre the panels on the wall
- create a feature by adding lighting or another material at the top or bottom
