Product details

The Akupanel 300 is a 3000 × 600mm acoustic wood slat panel for high walls. It covers walls up to 3m in one length from floor to ceiling, with no horizontal joins.

Made in Denmark by WoodUpp, with veneers hand-picked by the WoodUpp team and acoustic felt made in Sweden.

Where to use it

Double-volume rooms, high living room walls, stairwells, receptions and ceilings. Cut it to height for walls between 2.4m and 3m.

Specifications

  • Size: 3000 × 600mm, 22mm thick
  • Coverage: 1.8 m² per panel
  • Slats: 27mm wide with 13mm gaps, on acoustic felt
  • Joins: 13mm felt continuation on the edge, so panels join without a visible seam
  • Finishing slats: 22mm slats also come in 3000mm lengths
  • Fixing: screws through the felt (15 per panel in our guide) or mounting glue

How many do I need?

Divide the width you want to cover by 0.6 and round up. A 4.2m wall needs 7 panels. See our guide: how many acoustic panels do I need?

Finishing and installation

Finish exposed edges with 22mm finishing slats. Install it yourself with our DIY guide, or let our installation team do it.

Finishes labelled "Wrapped" use a high-quality wood-textured foil, not real wood veneer. All other wood finishes are real veneer, so grain and colour vary naturally from panel to panel.

Akupanels are for indoor use only. Don't install them where they will be exposed to water or steam. For outdoor walls, see Aluwood.

How big is the Akupanel 300?
3000mm high, 600mm wide and 22mm thick, covering 1.8 m² per panel.

When should I choose 300 instead of 240?
When your wall is taller than 2.4m. One 3m panel can be cut to any height up to 3m, so there are no horizontal joins.

My wall is over 3m. What now?
Stack and cut panels to reach the full height, or centre the panels and finish above or below with lighting or another material.

Can I return it?
Online orders can be cancelled within 14 days of delivery if unused and uninstalled. Cut panels can't be returned for a change of mind.

Are the panels easy to install?

You can install your Thula Walls using adhesive glue or a drill and screws - through the felt and into the wall or ceiling.

What about plug points or TV mounts?

During installation, you can measure the plug points, TV mounts or light switches, draw the area out onto your panel and cut the space out using a jigsaw or rail saw.

My wall is taller than 2.4 m, what should I do?

For walls up to 3 m high, choose the Akupanel 300: one full-length panel from floor to ceiling, with no joins. Enter your wall size in the wall planner above and it will pick the right panel for you.

For walls over 3 m, you can:

  1. cut and stack additional panels to reach the full height
  2. centre the panels on the wall
  3. create a feature by adding lighting or another material at the top or bottom
